Microwaves are radio waves with lengths ranging between 1mm and 1m.The frequencies range between 300 GHz and 300 MHz respectively.Microwave radiation is non-ionizing and has numerous applications in technology.The more common uses are the mobile phone network and the mobile phones, the radars and microwave ovens.
The center was established with the support of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space and the Israel Ministry of Environmental Protection
and is operated by the Cancer and Radiation Epidemiology Unit of the Gertner Institute
