The French Minister of Education announced that starting in the next school year, the use of cell phones will be prohibited in schools
The French Minister of Education announced that starting in the next school year, the use of cell phones will be prohibited in primary and middle schools.
Students will be allowed to bring phones to school, but they will not be allowed to use them, even during breaks.
This announcement, which was reported in newspapers around the world (The Guardian, Telegraph, Independent, The Times) aroused much skepticism from teachers’ organizations regarding the possibility of enforcing this ban.
Parents’ associations claim that there will be logistical problems with safekeeping of phones during school hours.
The French Education Ministry is currently working on how it will be possible to implement the ban.
