USA - National Toxicology Program, NTP

Implementation of the 5G will use the same frequencies that are already existing and explored by the NTP. In addition, higher frequencies will also be used - thereby exposing a user of the wireless technology to a wider spectrum of frequencies. The higher frequencies, known as the millimeter waves, can transmit tremendous quantities of information, but cannot penetrate the skin as deeply as the waves of the previous generations.

NTP evaluates the existing literature on high frequency that should be used in the 5th generation, and works to better understand the biological basis of the findings reported in previous radio radiation and cancer studies of generations 2 and 3. In addition, it develops exposure conditions for studies with a variety of frequencies to accommodate changes in technology and the communications industry.
